Weekend Birth Preparation – Intensive & Practical
Birth is an intense experience—both physically and emotionally. In this weekend course, you’ll receive everything you need in a short amount of time to feel confident and well-prepared for the birth of your baby.
I’m Laura, a midwife and mother of two, with many years of experience in both clinical and out-of-hospital birth care. I will guide you through this course with a mix of knowledge, practical exercises, and honest conversations—mindfully, supportively, and with plenty of space for your questions.
What to expect:
- How birth works: What happens in the body—explained realistically and clearly
- Breathing & relaxation techniques: Find calm, release tension, and actively support the birth process
- Support from partners or companions: Hands-on tools—from massage to emotional presence
- Separate sessions for birthing people and companions: A safe space to share and ask personal questions
- Postpartum & breastfeeding: What to expect after birth, how to recover well, and grow together as a family

Location: Midwifery practice, Tauroggenerstraße 43, 10589 Berlin
Time: Saturday & Sunday, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Snacks will be provided, and we’ll take a longer lunch break to relax and eat.
Who is this course for?
This course is open to all pregnant people—with or without a companion. Whether you come with a partner, friend, or family member—or attend on your own—you are warmly welcome.
What to bring:
Comfortable clothing, something to drink, a notebook & a blanket if you like—anything that helps you feel at ease. Yoga mats and cushions are provided.
Costs & Insurance:
The course fee for the pregnant participant is usually fully covered by public or private health insurance.
Birth companions pay €120, and in many cases, about 80% of this amount is reimbursed by their insurance provider. It's a good idea to check with your insurance in advance.

The childbirth preparation course will take place at the Midwifery Practice Charlottenburg (Tauroggenerstraße 43, 10589 Berlin) at the above mentioned date from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including a lunch break.
Course Fees:
For pregnant participants with statutory health insurance in Germany, the course fee is billed directly to the health insurance provider by the midwife.
Partner Fee:
If a partner or companion attends the course, a €120 fee applies. This can be paid:

In cash:The fee can also be paid on the first day of the course.
A receipt will be provided for the partner to submit to their own insurance provider for potential reimbursement. Many insurers reimburse up to 80%, but it’s recommended to check directly with your insurance in advance.The partner fee must be paid regardless of whether reimbursement is granted.
Private Insurance / Self-Payers:
Privately insured pregnant participants and those without valid health insurance will receive an invoice at the end of the course based on the Berlin Private Fee Schedule.If the participant has no valid health insurance, the course must be paid privately under these conditions.
Missed Sessions:
Missed sessions are not covered by insurance and must be paid privately—regardless of the reason for absence.Make-up sessions are not available.
Changes & Cancellation:
The midwife reserves the right to reschedule the course or individual sessions on short notice. If rescheduled, an alternative date will be offered.Participants may cancel the course without notice if the date changes.If the minimum number of participants is not met, the course may be canceled entirely.
Registration & Late Cancellation:
Registration becomes binding upon receipt of the completed registration form, no later than 14 days before the course starts.If a participant cancels less than 5 days before the course begins and does not attend, the full course fee will be invoiced privately.
